The graph highlights acid rain emission in the UK from transport and communication, electricity, gas and water supply, domestic and other industry sectors in 1990 and 2007. Overall, at the beginning of the period, the emissions from electricity, gas and water supply were significantly high, while the other sectors influence remained stable. However, all sectors experienced a downward trend from 1990 to 2007. In 1991, acid rain emission from gas electricity and water supply was more than 3 million tonnes, and this was the highest rate of this sector between 1991 and 2007. From 1991 to 1997, this sector rate fell considerably; after that, during four years the rate fluctuated slightly, around 300. 000 thousand tonnes; nevertheless, a downward trend continued till 2007. Regarding the other three sectors, namely, in transport and communication, domestic and other industries the indicators remained stable with 2. 1 million 0. 6 and 0. 5 million tonnes respectively. Considering other industry sectors, in 1991; the decrease started from 2. 1 and showed a downward trend to 1. 3 until 2007. The lowest amount of acid rain emission contributed was by transport and communication; whereas there was not a significant change in the domestic sector between 1991 and 2007.
