The supplied graph illustrates trends among boys’ and girls’ names that were popular in the UK during the period of 1925 and 2000. Looking to the details in the names of boys, it is clear that the least popular name has been Alexander until 1975, when there was a dramatic increase to about 10 names per thousand boys. Comparing with the girls’ names Sophia and Isabella that had accurate upward trend beginning from the 1975 and mainly became 11 and 9 in 2009. As the line chart demonstrates, it is clear that the name Daniel has been the most popular. However after reaching its peak at 12 per thousand it started to drop slowly when in 2000 it became 10 only, in comparison with the females’ name Emily. Although it was unpopular it rose rapidly up to 11 the final year Overall, it can be seen that both males’ and females’ names became popular after 1975.
