The line graph provide information about the quantities of products transported in the UK from 1974 to 2002 by(Road, Water, Rail and Pipeline)various modes of ways. The data are measured in million tonnes. Overall, road experienced an upward trend, while pipeline showed a down trend throughout the period. To begin with, at the beginning of the period, road was accounting around 70 million tones. Also, the number of goods transported in UK was increased steadily from just below 65 to above 80 million tonnes in the middle three years. Then, from 1994 to 2002 it was climbed up around 80 to just below 100 million tonnes. However, in terms of water and rail had a similar rate around 38 to 41 tonnes respectively in the year 1978. Moreover, it has gradually increased at the end of the period approximately 64 tonnes. On the other hand, pipeline had constant in the mid-three year around 15 million tonnes. Although pipline increased in the year 1994, it remain stable in the last two year as shown in figure.
