The graph illustrates the proportion of households with regular use of cars in Great Britain from 1971 and 2007. It is clear that the percentage of households with regular use of car increased over the time given. In addition, the figure of households with regular use of cars rose, whereas that of households with no use of cars dropped. There was a dramatic growth of around 12% in the percentage of households with regular use of two cars from 1971 to 1991. Meanwhile, the proportion of households with regular use of no car decreased sharply from 48% to 32% in the same period. A slight climb of around 5% was recorded in the figure for households with regular use of three or more cars, while that for households with regular use of one car fluctuated at around 45% between 1971 and 1991. From 1991 to 2007, the proportion of households with regular use of two cars kept rising rapidly and reached its peak at of 27%. On the other hand, the percentage of households with regular use of three or more cars experienced a slow increase of 4% in the same period. The figure for households with no use of car and one car declined to 25% and 42%, respectively in 2007.
