The line graph illustrates the amount of journeys, which were made by passengers on three railway systems in Great Britain from 1o50 to 2004/5. Overall, as is shown in the graph, National rail network and London underground experienced to have the most significant number of individuals throughout the period, compared with Light rail and metro systems, which remained almost stable. In 1950, the number of passengers, who used National rail network made up 1000 million, as rates reached its peak at about 1100 million in 1960, before diminishing noticeably, to nearly 700 million in 1980. In contrast, the figure recorded for London Underground fluctuated around 700 to 650 million, between 1950 and 1970, and then hit a trough of about 500 million in 1980. By 2004/5, the amount of people travelled on LONDON Underground hit its highest point at around 1100 million, which was considered to be more than that on National rail network, with about 900 million. The Light rail and metro systems carried much fewer passengers than other railway systems, with about 100 million during 1950-198p. Albeit, it can be noticed that Light rail and metro systems experienced a considerable swell in the value of individuals deployed that railway system for the next 24 years, to above 200 million.
