The graphs above give information about the number of Japanese tourists who visited other countries over the decade from 1985 to 1995.
A quick glance at the first graph reveals that the number of Japanese people who travel in foreign countries was on an upward trend over the period except for 1991.
Initially in 1985, there were about 5 million tourists from Japan travelled to foreign nations. However, over the next five years, this number nearly doubled to roughly 11 million.
After that, there was a minimal dip of a few hundred thousand in the year of 1991, but then the tourist numbers began to rise again, finished the period at just over 15 million in 1995, which was the greatest level of the time and grew more than three times compared to that in 1985.
From 1985 to 1995, more and more Japanese visitors decided to travel overseas, as shown in the graphs.
