The given line graph depicts the mean number of people commuting in the UK via car, bus and train every day in a 60-year period from 1970 to 2030. Overall, there has been and will be an increase in commuters preference for cars and trains whereas buses has faced a slow decline over the years. Travellers have always seemed to have preferred the use of cars in the UK as the number of commuters using cars for their travel was about 5 million and rapidly increase to reach nearly 8 million by 2020. The projection for 2030 in use of cars, rather than trains or buses, also illustrates the growth in the popularity reaching 9 million commuters. Similarly, trains also seen to have growing number of commuters since it started around 2 million travellers in 1970, consequently has projected to have about 5 million commuters in 2030, surpassing buses in 2010 and making the trains the second-most used means of transport in the UK. However, the number of commuters choosing buses steadily decreased in this specified period. The average number of bus takers were 4 million during 1970s which was followed by a slow decline and is projected to reach only 3 million by 2030.
