The graph below shows average carbon dioxide emmisions per person in the United Kingdom, Sweden, Italy and Portugal between 1967 and 2007.

The line graph represents changes in carbon dioxide in 4 european countries between 1967 and 2007. The production of carbon dioxide in Portugal and Italy increased steadily during the given period of time. In 1967, the emmision of carbon dioxide was approximately 1. 2 metric tonnes while in Italy; the level of this gas was 4. 2 metric tonnes. After 30 years, emmision levels were 5. 5 and 7. 8 metric tonnes in Portugal and Italy respectively. And then the lines showing emmisons straightened suggesting no change till 2007. The emmision of carbon dioxide in Sweden were 8. 7 metric tonnes with a sudden increase to 11 over next 10 years; but was maintained to same level as of Portugal till 2007. On the other hand, the United Kingdom is the only country of these 4; who never went through even a slight rise in the level of emmision and decreased consistently to 8. 8 metric tonnes in 2007 as it was approximately 11 in 1967. Overall, the average carbon dioxide emmisions ranged between 5. 5 to 9 metric tonnes in 2007 for all these states.
