Overall, the poorest spend the most on fuel in the US while the poorest spend the least on fuel in the UK. Inversely, the richest spend comparatively lesser on fuel when compared to the other economic classes in the society with the richest in the US spending lesser than the elites in the UK. In the US the poorest groups of the society spend 4% of their income on fuel, this rose to almost 5. 5% as we move up the economic ladder. Middle-income groups spend 3. 5% to 5% of their income on fuel needs. The richest section of the society spends only 3% to 4% of their income on combustible fuels.
