Overall it is evident from the chart that a higher percentage of people were unemployed in rural areas throughout the period than compared to the urban areas. The unemployment rate fluctuated considerably in both areas. It is noticeable that rural areas had the highest rate of unemployment in the first quarter, with a value of around 7. 5%, This number steadily declined to approximately 4. 5% at the ending of the second quarter. However, in the third quarter, the unemployment rate rose to 5. 5% then again fell down to 5% in the fourth quarter.
