The given pie charts provide the information regarding the units of electricity production by fuel source in Australia and France in the years 1980 and 2000. Australia produced 50 units of electricity through coal and 50 units from other fuel sources such as oil, hydro power and natural gas in the year 1980. By 2000, the units of electricity produced through coal grew to 130 and the share of other fuel sources shrunk to 40 units. The overall units of electricity produced in Australia grew by 70 units from 1980 to 2000. France on the other hand produced 90 units of electricity in the year 1980 through fuel sources such as coal, oil, natural gas, hydro power and nuclear power. All of these sources had an almost equal share in the total production. By 2000 the total production grew to 180 units and the majority was produced through nuclear power. In its entirety, these pie charts show that while initially Australia produced more units of electricity as compared to France, by the year 2000 France was producing 10 more units than Australia. Also Australia grew more dependent on coal as a fuel source while in comparison France was more reliant on nuclear power.
