The given charts demonstrate the proportions of engineers who held Bachelor, Master and PhD certificates in Arts and Science faculties between 1980 and 2008. Overall, it is noticeable that there was an increase in the figures for people who had PhD qualification, while that of Bachelor's had an opposite trend and that of Master’s remained for both years. In addition, science programmes seemed to be more popular than arts ones. As is presented in the graphs, the Bachelor Arts accounted for a quarter of the figure in 1980 before reducing to 11% 28 years later. However, in 1980, the proportion of PhD Arts rose fourfold from 2%. Similarly, there was a slight increase by 1% in the quantity of Master Arts. By 1980, the percentage of PhD Science was about 13% and in 2008, this figure rose dramatically to 30%. In contrast, the quantity of Bachelor Science experienced a decrease by 9% in the period of 28 year. In addition, the figure for Master Science remained unchanged at about 29% in both years.
