The given graph shows data about the consumption of 3 spreads (margarine, low fat and reduced spreads and butter) from 1981 to 2007 with the unit of gram. Overall, the consumption of low fat and reduced spreads kept its drop above the consumption of margarine and butter in the final years. In 1981, the consumption of butter spread was at the top place with approximately 145 grams as the most widely used product, while for the margarine, it stood at the second place with nearly 90 grams. The butter spread decreased significantly until it overtook the consumption of margarine with over 40 grams in 2007. The consumption of margarine changed intermittently until 1991 and it remained steady with the amount of 100 grams for 5 years. It fell considerably towards 40 grams in 2007. Despite the consumption of butter and margarine started in the early years, the consumption of low fat and reduced spreads were only consumed at around 10 grams in 1996. However, it sharply jumped over 80 grams in 2001. Then, it slightly dipped into nearly 70 grams in 2007, but still placed at the top of the other two spreads.
