It can be seen that while the rate of immigrants from Vietnam, the UK, and India tended to increase marginally, the opposite was true for Italy and New Zealand in the given period. Also, the most significant proportion of immigrants in Australia was recorded in 1962, and it belonged to Italia. Among the five regions, it can be noted that in 1962, the rate of Australian immigrants from India was the lowest, at 3 percent compared with 10 percent of respondents to both the UK and Vietnam. During the first 20 years, the proportion of Australian immigrants from India showed an upward trend, reached 15 percent in 1982, and then decrease marginally to 14 percent in the final year of the given period. Whereas, before decreased by 5 percent between 1982 and 2002, the rate of Australian immigrants from the UK increased significantly to about 16 percent. Likewise, between 1962 and 1982, the figure for Vietnam rose sharply to 25 percent and then decreased by half in 2002.
