The given pie charts demonstrate the percentage of reasons why people cycle to work and why go to work by car. Overall, two main reasons for choosing a bike were for health and fitness and less pollution, while most people drive to work because it was more comfortable. As can be seen from the graph, the percentage of reduced pollution and health are the largest of the total reasons for cycling to work, at 30 percent, which was two times that of the second largest reason, which is no parking problems. By contrast, both the percentage of faster than driving and no costs are the lowest and second lowest with 12 percent and 13 percent, respectively. In terms of the reasons for driving, the proportion of people driving for comfort was 40 percent, which was also the highest of the total. Distance to work, which was the second most common reason, contributed 21 percent. The other causes were much less significant with all under 15 percent. Both faster cycling and the need to carry things to work are equal at 14 percent. Safety was the smallest excuse for people choosing car, at 11 percent.
