The first chart illustrate the different reasons for why 100000 UK citizens chose to travel abroad during a period of five years from 1994 to 1998. However, the second chart represent number of travelers in each of the following destinations: Western Europe, North America and Other Areas.
Overall, from the first chart it can be seen that most people decided to travel abroad to spend their holidays in rural areas. Nonetheless, the least number of people chose other reason different from holiday, business or visiting friends and relatives. Moreover, looking at the second chart, Western Europe was the most common destination for the UK residents whereas North America was the least one.
Firstly, from chart one in 1994, 15246 people chose holidays as their reason for travelling, 3155 chose business and 2689 chose visting friends and relatives while on the contrary the rest chose other reasons. Nevertheless, those numbers increased over the years to reach in 1998 20700 for holidays whereas
at that year an approximetly same number of people (between 3000 and 4000) chose business and visiting friennds as their reason. Finally, the rest (around 990) chose other reason.
In terms of destinations, it can be acknowleged from chart 2 that in 1994 merly under 20000 people traveled to Wester Europe. However, a number much less than that chose North America and other areas respectively both numbers between 0 and 5000. Over the years although people choosing North America and other regions increased yet the stayed in the same interval as 1994. On the other hand the number of travelers to Western Europe increased to reach merly under 25000.
