The pie charts compare the percentages of the energy used in Australian household to the percentages of the greenhouse gas emissions that evolves due to this energy use. Overall, it is clear from the two charts that one-third of an average Australian household is used in heating water which produce almost one-third of the greenhouse gas emissions. Generally, heating category consumes most of the energy. Firstly, 30% of an average household energy use in Australia is consumed in heating water which result in 32% of the greenhouse gas emissions. The highest amount of energy consumption is in heating where the first chart reveals 42% of the total energy has been utilized in heating and this energy emits 15% of CO2 emissions. Secondly, refrigeration and cooling use 9% of the total energy, meanwhile, they produce 17% of the greenhouse gas. Although 15% of the energy used in an Australian house is consumed by other appliances, those appliances increases the emissions of the greenhouse gas by 28%. Finally, lighting has the least energy consumption and therefore the least effect on producing the greenhouse gas and its harmful effect on the environment.
