The illustration depicts the metamorphosis of the frogs There are 5 steps of the process, commencing with eggs laid by female frogs and ending with an adult. Initially, Frogs lay fertilized eggs. After being hatched, the embryo emerges tadpoles, which feed on algae as the main food source and it is more like a fish than a frog because it has an external gills for breathing and a long tail. After a while, hindlegs appear which aids them to easily leap and swim under water. At this point, The front legs start growing and the tadpoles can be considered to be a froglet. Next, the tail, which contains nutrients, becomes shorter and a young frog is reproduced. A juvenile takes nearly 2-4 years to be an adult frog when its tail eventually disappears.
