The two maps shows the changes in Happy Valley Shopping Centre in two decades between from 1982 to 2012. Overall, shopping center witnessed dramatic changes over a period of two decades. The biggest change is the removal of the lake and a part of trees for constructed parking building. In 1982, visitors had to go along the road and through doors which led into a lobby, However, this road was demolished to make room for the parking lot, which was shown on the 2012's layout. Moreover, the building space was expanded extensively due to the construction of the furniture retail which superseded the lake in 1982. The different areas inside the building changed nearly completely. To be specific, three reaming sectors which were sports, electronics and food store were relocated. Besides, a chain of restaurants occupied the area that was used for sports and electronics store. At the left-hand corner of the building, the coffee shop was knocked down to make way for other sectors in the building.
