The diagram illustrates the process of making a daily newspaper. Overall, the process consists of 3 main stages, from the initial collection of recycling paper and timbers, passing through the production chain, to the final product: newspaper. The production begins when trees from the woods are felled. These timbers are sent to the machines, where barks are removed and chipped. Following this, the chipped timbers are moved to a refining machine for chemical pulping. At this stage, water is added, making a mixture that passes through rollers to be flattened, pressed, and dried. Once the papers are printed, they are distributed to the consumers. The used newspapers are then undergone the recycling stage, starting when they are blended with water before being put into the de-inking cell, where leftover inks and glues are removed. Finally, that combination is then sent to the blend chest, where the whole procedure is started over again.
