The diagram illustrates some changes to the population in the village, namely Chorleywood over a period of 126 years, starting in 1868. Overall, as can be seen from the graph, the village became more developed over the given four periods of time, moving to residential purpose with more transport infrastructure. Beginning in 1868, It is noticeable that there was a small residential area near main roads. However, the railway was built and the residential area was expanded South-west. Most importantly, there were two areas including Chorleywood Park and Golf course and Chorleywood station was established in the centre, while many people lived around the station from 1883 to1922. Looking at 1922, the railway line was erected to the Southeast which has many humans concentrated along the railroad. Furthermore, a motorway was opened up to the East of the village. In addition, the residents surrounding an intersection which was constructed between a motorway and main road.
