Fristly, the waste water is filltered to remove large solids. Then, this liquid is sent to a grit removal where sand and gravel are eliminated from liquid. After that, the water is transferred to a mixing chamber which chemicals are added. Next, the liquid is chanelled into a water separator which separates the used water into water and sludge. Following that, the water goes through a treatment step in which chemicals are added to kill the bacteria in the water. Finally, treated water is released back to open ocean. Meanwhile, the sludge separated from the water separator machine is dewatered. Then, the large solids from the first step, the sand and gravel from the second steps, the dewatered sludge from the fourth steps are sent to a for site to be dispoced. Overall, the diagram shows how sewage is successfully recycled to produce clean water.
