First of all, the female adult lays an egg, the female typically lays one or two eggs every three days. Between 9 - 10 days later, each egg hatches and the immature insect, or nymph, appears.
During the third stage of the life cycle, the nymph grows in size and sheds its skin three times. The moulting first takes place 5 days after the egg hatches, then 7 days later and again another 9 days later. 30 - 31 days from the start of the cycle, the young adult honey bee emerges from its final moulting step, and only 4 days later, it reaches full maturity.
