The diagram depicts the process of extracting sugar from beets. first, the beets are unloaded from the truck then because these beets have directly come from the farm, they are dirty. so by passing them through a shaking conveyor belt, the rocks are removed. then, they are washed in a machine called a beet washer. Next beets are cut into cossettes and are drawn in a hot water to make sugar juice. As this juice may still not completely clean, milk of lime is added in order to clean it. then this mixture filtered and make a pure sugar juice. following this, sugar juice is heated several times which evaporates the water. finally, sugar is centrifuged to make crystals.
