the diagram below shows how geothermal energy is used to produce electricity OVM27
The diagram illustrates how the electric energy is produced and transferred to the geotermal power plant.
The process has five main stages. At the beginning, cold water is pumped down, exactly 4. 5 kilometers under the ground. On that level the injection well takes place, and the second phase starts. Water is going through the well and then through the zone of hot rocks, also known as the geotermal zone, around 5 kilometers bellow the surface of the ground. After the transfer, water is warmed up and ready to go through the production well which is on the opposite side of the injection one. Hot water is pumped up with the help of the well, and it finally goes back to the ground level.
In the next stage, water goes through the condeser, and after the condensation process the water changes its state and becomes steam. Finally, the turbine which is powered by the steam, further poweres the generator. The generator then produces electricity, and the energy is transferred to the power plant, which is the end of the process shown.
In conclusion, through the process that uses geotermal energy, electricity that we relly upon today is being produced.
