The diagram below describe the process of generating power by hydroelectric power station.
We can see that hydroelectric power station has two stage electricity generating process. During day time generator is used for electricity generation, in night, generator is used for pumping water into reservoir to maintain water. Water is as the lead role in the whole process.
At the first stage in the hydropower station, In day time, dam intake open and water started flowing towards reversible turbines. Generator start rotating because of water flow and start generating power then transfer power into power lines to national grid. After generating power, water store in lower reservoir for the further process.
At the second stage in hydropower station, pump water from backward from low level reservoir through same way
