The diagram shows the major repercussions of cutting down the trees in forests. Since this process is performed by the use of heavy logging equipment, the soil hardens and is called “baked “, causing the rain water to run off, resulting in devastating floods. Since fewer roots hold the upper part of the soil in place, it erodes, as a result, pioneer species move in, leading to degradation of vegetation. Also, risk of both intentional and accidental burning rises, which can damage the waste wood of the logging, making micro-organisms who feed on waste disappear.
