The chart shows the unemployment situation in Australia in the year 2012. Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

The line graph represents the rate of unemployment in Australia on 2012. Overall, the unemployment rate in rural areas decreased substantially over the first two quarters and increased markedly in the third quarter with a slight deacrease in the end. The trends then gradually oscilated thereafter until the fourth quarter. Urban areas rate of unemployment escalated significantly until the second quarter and decreased dramatically in the third quarter. Finally, the trend went up sharply with a slight decrease in the middle of the fourth quarter. There were around 6. 5% unemployment rate in the first quarter in rural areas and the trend decreased by 2% by the end of the second quarter. On the other hand, the rate of unemployment in the urban areas only around 2. 3%, 3 times lower than in rural areas in the first quarter, but the difference getting narrowed by the end of the second quarter as the urban areas unemployment rate increased substantially and reached 4%. The difference was getting wider in the third quarter, as the rate of unemployment in rural areas increased considerably and reached around 5. 4% while there were significant deacreased in the urban areas rate of unemployment and reached 2% by the end of the third quarter. In the last quarter, the trend in rural areas were stabilised around 5% while in the urban areas the trend increased markedly and reached its peak in 4. 9%.
