The chart illustrates the economic decline in Australia in 2012. Overall, It is clear that at the beginning of the period the unemployment rate in rural areas was the highest, while at the same time the unemployment in urban areas was the least significant. However, at the end of the period both rural and urban area's unemployment rates almost identical. In rural areas, the unemployment rate in the first quarter was the peak of almost 6. 5%. However, this rate declined significantly and reached the lowest unemployment rate in the second quarter at approximately 4. 5%. After that, it followed the upward trends and in the third quarter, its percentage was almost 5. 3%. Following this, towards the end of the fourth quarter, its value fluctuated and reached the proportion of almost 5%. While in the urban areas, it followed the opposite trends. In the first quarter, its rate was the lowest at approximately 2. 1%. However, this rate rose rapidly in the second quarter at 4%, then It followed the downward trends in the third quarter it's valued only 2%. After that, the unemployment rate increased and at the end of the fourth quarter it had the peak proportion of almost 5%
