The chart shows the unemployment situation in Australia in the year 2012. 1jAn
The line graph illustrates the proportion of people who are not working in rural and urban areas in Australia in the year 2012. Overall, it is noticed that the percentage of unemployed persons within both rural and urban areas fluctuated. In addition, the country side recorded the highest percentage of unemployed individuals whiles cities had the lowest proportion. In the first quarter, the unemployment ratio was about 6. 5% for rural areas which declined gradually to approximately 4. 5% in the second quarter. Also, in the third quarter of the year 2012, the percentage of people who were not working in the country sides experienced a steady increase to about 5. 2% however, it fell to exactly 5% by the fourth quarter. On the other hand, the ratio of people in the cities who were not engaged in any work in the first quarter was about 2. 2%, which peaked in the second quarter with a percentage of 4%. This declined sharply to around 2. 1% in the third quarter of the 2012 there after, rising to approximately 4. 8% in the last quarter of the year.
