The chart describes the quarterly variation of the unemployment percentage in Australia's Rural and Urban areas for the year 2012. At the start of the year, there was a larger percentage of unemployment in the rural areas as compared to the urban areas which were 6. 5% unemployment in rural areas and about 2. 2% for the urban areas. For the urban areas, there was a sharp increase in the unemployment percentage in the first quarter of the year which climbed to 4% in the second quarter of the year. Then it dipped suddenly to its minimum value of 2% in the third quarter. After that, there has been an overall increase which reaches its maximum value at 5%. On the other hand, for rural areas there was a gradual decrease in the unemployment percentage for first two quarters where it reaches the lowest value of 4. 5%. Afterwards, there has been an overall increase in the unemployment percentage. Overall, it can be seen that the unemployment percentage in the rural areas of Australia had been decreased while it had been increased in the urban areas in the year 2012.
