The pie chart provides the answers from the teenagers related to four purposes why they used their mobile phones in four year period from 2016 to 2019 in an African country. Overall, phones were used mostly for social media, while it was the least for making phone calls. However, the rates on using email and camera on the phones were similar. It was seen that 50% of the teenagers were on social networks in 2016, while there was only one tenth called on the cellphones. It was a slight increase for using the smartphones to contact, where as there was a 2% reduction on using the social sites in 2017. However, the rates of people using phones for communication dropped to 11% in 2018. Though it was a drop in 2017, the social media users rose up to 51%. In the last year 2019, the surveys were shown that social networks were still the main reasons of using the phones for teenagers which was 56%, yet the phone calls decreased considerably about half the percentage in 2018. In 2016, sending and receiving email on phones were 10 % more than taking the pictures and videos. After a year, the percentage of using camera remained unchanged, but the email users fell a bit. For the last two years, teenagers who used the camera still kept the 2% growth, while it was still a slight decrease for emailing.
