The bar chart compares the proportion of fuel by renewable energy between seven different countries in 2005 and 2009. Overall, while the percentage of fuel in Slovakia and the USA decreased, fuel consumption in Japan, China, Greece and the EU increased.
As can be seen from the chart, during 2005, the highest in fuel consumption was Slovakia with 10% and higher than the USA about approximately 1, 1%. While Slovakia was the highest, Greece was the lowest figure shown on the chart, just under 2% of total fuel usage in each. Japan had a higher rate than China and the EU.
In 2009, the figure for France was unchanged, at just over 8, 2%. Both Slovakia and the USA respectively decreased slightly to 9% and 8%. In contrast, Japan, China, Greece and the EU increased roughly from 2% to 3% in fuel consumption. Also, the percentage of fuel by renewable energy in China and the EU was about 6% during 2009.
