The charts illustrate the expenditure of money on music in Northern Ireland in three different periods of time. In overall, in both 2005 and 2008 the largest amount of money was spent on CD’s, while in 2011 Digital downloads took the lead in terms of expenditure. Another interesting point is that, there were remarkable changes in all sectors, apart from spendings on other sources. Looking at the details, the money spent on CD’s comprised of 61% in 2005 and this showed a slight decrease of 18% to 43% in 2008. By 2011, the percentage of money spent on CD’s had experienced a drop of 17% to about a quarter. Likewise, in 2005 expenditure of Concerts constituted just below a third, which fell marginally to 29% in 2008 and to 28% in 2011. On the contrary, the amount of money, whic was spent on digital downloads saw a noticeable growth. Having started with 6% in initial of given period, the expenditure soared by a fifth percent in 2008. By 2011, the spendings on Digital downloads had grown, reaching up 43%.
