Overall, the total amount of burglary has been decreased significantly, whereas, in 2012 car theft and robbery cases were the same as the beginning of survey in Newport city. To begin with, as chart demonstrates burglary was the most common one among other crimes at just below 3500 in 2003. This number experienced noticeable growth around 3800 during a year. However, the rates of burglary incidents decreased dramatically reaching approximately 1100 in 2008. This figure showed an upward trend in the next year, which remained constant over the next 4 years staying just beneath 1500 in the end of survey. In the meantime, robbery accounted for around 2800 at the beginning of chart, which stayed constant over the period of 3 years. However, the rates of robbery experienced an abrupt decrease to just almost 2000 in 2006. This number fluctuated during 3 years, after increasing to above 2500. In 2012 the number of robbery incidents in the inner city stayed around 2700 at the end of survey. On the other hand car theft was the least changed crime in Newport city, which also the lowest proportion of the chart. This crime area was at 600 at the beginning, after several fluctuation number stayed stable in 2012 as 2003
