While the pie chart indicates the factors of deforestation of the rain forest during the period between 2000 and 2005. Overall, Africa, Asia, and South America presented for three regions that accounted for the highest amounts. Meanwhile, the top three reasons that caused deforestation were pasture, small farms, and large farms respectively. As the graph shows, South America had been the region where witnessed tropical rain forest amounts was devastated the most and there was a moderate growth at around 3. 7 million hectares in 1990 and approximately 4. 2 million hectares in the next ten years. Following South America, there was a steady fall in Africa, from around 3. 6 million hectares to about 3. 3 million hectares. Regarding Asia, it can be seen that there was a light rise from just over 2. 5 million to approximately 2. 8 million hectares. For the rest of regions such as Central America, Oceania, and North America, the total of tropical deforestation amounts destroyed was no significant. As regards factors of rain forest deforestation, pasture accounted for the most amounts two- fifths with 40% in total, the following were small farms and large farms with a small minority at around 15- 20%, logging reason made up at around 5-8%.
