The chart below shows the percentage of their food budget in the average family spent on the resturant lLKYK
The pie charts compares the total cost in percentage the average family spent on food prepared at home and purchased in resturants, while the line graph illustrates the amount of food eaten both at eat-in and fast food eateries in four different years. Overall, it can be seen that in 1970, households spent the lowest percentage of their budget eating out. We can also see they ate more at fast food diners over the years, as the numbers rose significantly. According to the bar charts, in the year 1970,   households had the lowest budget spent on home-made meals. These numbers slowly increased, with a 15% and 35% of their budget spent in 1980 and 1990 respectively. Furthermore, 2000 was quite different, as family members spent an equal amount on both eat outs and home cooked meals. Looking at the line graph, the number of meals eaten in fast food and sit down restaurants in the year 1970, stood at 20 meals per year. Ten years later, the amount eaten at sit outs overtook that of fastfoods, growing steadily, and the numbers closed at 50 meals at the end of the period. Meanwhile, the meal eaten at diners increased significantly, reaching a peak of 85 meals, in the year 2020.
