The chart illustrates the count of trips (in millions) in some country in the year 1990 and 2010. These trips were made by children of age 5 to 12 using several modes of transports to and from school. To begin with, trip made in car in the year 1990 were around 4 million per year, while in the year 2010 trips increased to 11 million per year. Although, walking passengers reduced in the year 2010 to 6 millions, however people preferred walking back in 1990, as over 12 millions trips per year were made. Similarly, cycle riders also decreased in the year 2010 to just 2 million from 6 million in 1990. Also, the children who preferred both walking and bus mode decreased from 6 million in 1990 to 3 million trips per year in 2010. Only the bus trips count reduced 2 million from 7 million in 1990 and 5 millions in 2010. To cap it all, walking was the only mode which dived to very low and car was the only mode which hiked in the span of 20 years.
