The chart below shows the number of girls per 100 boys enrolled in different levels of school education. 7g12
The bar chart compares the number of girls per 100 boys, who took admission to three levels of education( primary, secondary and tertiary) in developing and developed countries in the year 1990 and 1998. Overall, except for tertiary education in developed countries in all the other forms of education, the number of female students is below the target level. In regard to primary education, in 1990, 83 and 95 girls studied in developing and developed countries respectively. Whereas, in 1998 developing counties showed slight progress with 4 female students enrolled, while in developed countries it was one. The highest discrepancy was seen in secondary education of developing countries where the count of female students increased from 72 in 1990 to 82 in 1998. On the other hand, developed countries did not show much progress. However, developed countries reached more than their target level in the form of tertiary education with 105 girl students in 1990 and 112 in 1998. In contrast, developing countries had the least count of female students compared to primary and secondary education with 66 students in 1990 and 75 in 1995.
