The line chart gives a breakdown of how three different crime fields changed in Newport city center between 2003 and 2012. Overall, while the result in the number of incidents of robbery was the same as the beginning, the result of both burglary and car theft decreased at the end of the period. The theft from the person had the lowest number in the chart from starting around 500 cases, increasing just a bit to nearly 1000 cases in 2 year later. From 2005 to 2011, this trend continued to fall, including the least number being 500 in 2008, despite the growth in 2009 and 2010. And last year, 2012, the number of cases of robbery inclined up to the number in the first year. First with burglary, it witnessed the highest number in the beginning, growing up in the next year and peaking at more than 3500 cases. Then it declined sharply between 2004 to 2008, alternately increasing and decreasing to respectively approximately 1250 and 1500 cases at the rest years of the period. While, car theft stood second in 2003 and did not have significant change with 2 next year at around the average of 2500 and 3000 incidents. After having fallen to 2000 incidents, car theft grew constantly by a small number and little decrease in 2008 and 2012. However, it witnessed a lower result when comperating with the first year.
