The chart below gives information on the percentage of British people giving money to charity by age range for the years 1990 and 2010

The chart shows data about donation of British people in five different ages over a period of 20 years. It is clear that, the most donations were made by people in the age of 36-50 in 1990, but the people in the age 51-65 became the most generous in 2010. The age group of 18-26 and 26-35 became less generous over the 20 year period. In 1990, the level of donations among 36-50 ages stood at 42 % which was almost 10 percent higher than 2010. While in 2010 less than a fifth of money charities received was given by the group people aged 51-65, which was the most generous age in 2010. The other three groups which gave money to charity were 18-25, 26-35 and over 65 years people. In 1990, these groups gave around 17%, 31% and 32% of money to charity respectively, but the group of people over the 65 overtook the other two groups. In 2010, donation of over 65 aged people people increased slightly, whereas donation of 18-25 aged group decreased dramatically, and figures for 26-35 aged people were fall only 7%.
