The line graph shows the proportion of car possession in the UK between 1975 and 2005. As can be seen from the graph, the percentage of people who had no car decreased most significantly while the opposite was true with the figure for two car ownership. Besides, the people who had one car was always highest over the period In 1975, the percentage of people who owned one car and no car was higher than other kinds of car ownership, with 45% for the former and approximately 43% for the latter. In contrast, the respective rate of 3 and 2 -car ownership was nearly 5% and 7%. In the next 10 year, the british people having 2 and 3 cars witnessed an upward trend while other 2 figures decreased significantly From 1985 to 2005, the percentage of 1-car ownership recovered to the same figure as the beginning of the period at 45%. Meanwhile, the proportion of people with no car in the UK declined considerably and stood at roughly 22%. Three and two cars owner continued increased and peaked at approximately 18% and 10% respectively
