The bar chart depicts the billions of minutes spend the people living in the UK on telephone calls, which are further segregated into the category of local, national and international and mobile calls. From the year 1995 to 1998 the local calls are gradually increasing at the same rate and remains steady for the next year as well. But, after 1999 there is gradual decrease in the minutes spend on these calls. While on the contrary, the national and international calls minutes increase over the period of eight years and represents approximately fifty percent increase from 1995 to 2002. While the highest increase in the minutes spend is of the calls through the mobile phones and is almost eight hundred percent. In year 1995, the calls from mobile phones totaled to around 2 billion minutes and there was slight increase in the same for over next 3 years. But it jumped from about 14 billion to 34 billion minutes, the highest increase in all category in two concurrent years. In year 2001, almost reaching 40 billion minutes and finally reaching its pinnacle in year 2002 and corresponding to 45 billion minutes.
