The graph depicts the report of consumption of energy in the US from year 1980 and the projection up-till 2030 from various sources, in quadrillion units.
Although, petrol and oil had the greatest consumption in 1980, the projection also represent that at end of 2030 they will be at the pinnacle. A significant growth could be seen in coal, starting from around 16 units and reaching almost 30 units in year 2030. Hydropower fluctuated over the entire span and was least used source for energy in the year 2030.
Natural gas started with 2 units intake on the contrary took blow in the next decade and slowly rising up from the hit. At the end, rising gradually and maintaining its steady pace at the end of three decades. Other renewable sources, such as solar or wind did not have a significant growth over 50 years, beginning from 4 units and reaching almost 5 units. The same could also be said for the Nuclear energy, also starting from 4 units and reaching merely above 5 units.
