The bar chart illustrates the ranking of the ten countries on the basis of electricity produced and used by them in 2014. The units are measured in billion kilowatt per hour.
Overall, maximum production and usage of electricity was done by China whereas minimum generation and consumption was by Korea. It is interesting to notice that in all the ten countries production was higher than usage except Germany.
To begin with, China and the US were the top producers. While China produced 5, 398 billion kWh, the US produced 4, 099 billion kwh. However, Russia was ranked third with the production of 1, 057 billion kWh of power. Apart from this, Japan, India, Canada, France and Brazil produced electricity between 500-1000 kWh. On the contrary, Korea has generated the least power (485 billion kWh).
On the other hand, consumption followed a similar pattern as that of production. China, US, and Russia were the topmost consumers with 5, 322, 3, 866 and 1, 038 billion kWh of electricity. They were followed by Japan and India with power consumption of 856. 7 and 698. 8 billion kWh, respectively. Moreover, Canada, France, Brazil, Germany and Korea consumed less than 500 kWh.
