The bar chart compares the proportions of Australian males and females in six different categories who were physically active on a routine basis in the year 2010.
Overall, there was a higher proportion of women than men who did regular physical activity in almost ages, except the youngest one. In addition, middle aged women were the most proportion in physical exercise while men aged 35 to 44 did the least physical activity.
In the youngest age category(15 to 24), almost 53 percent of Australian men but merely 47. 7 percent of women did regular physical exercise in 2010. However, between the ages of 25 and 44, men are much less active on average than women. In fact, in the 34 to 44 age group, a mere 39. 5 percent of males did some term of regular exercise, compared to 52. 5 percent of females.
Between the ages of 45 and 64, the figure of males who did the routine exercise were slightly increased to around 45 percent, while the proportions of females remained stable around 8 percent higher, 53 percent. Finally, the percentages of Australian males and females aged 65 and over who did regular physical activity were almost identical, at approximately 47 percent.
