The chart below shows that people moving from countryside to central city in three countries ( Iran, Indonesia and Russia) since 2000 and the forecast for 25 years later. Overall, it is clear that there was a sharp increase movement of people from rural to urban areas. In details, all three countries started with similar numbers of urban migrants in 2000. Russian began with the most migrants (around 15 million ) and over the period sees significant increases, particularly between 2010 and 2015 ( about 42 to 70 million) with this upward trend is predicted to continue to approximately 86 million by 2025. Moreover, Iran after a slow start between 2000 and 2015 sees a dramatic rise in movement to urban areas. And then kept going up to exactly 80 million and this increase is forecasted to almost 100 million. However, Indonesia bucks the trend somewhat. Whilst consistently steady between 2000 and 2020, its growth is far less dramatic than other two countries ( 10 to 30 million). Furthermore, post 2020, it is predicted to level off at about 30 million.
