The bar chart below shows the number of houses built per year in two cities, Derby and Nottingham, Between 2000 and 2009. Write a report for a university lecturer describing the information shown below.

This bar chart gives information about the volumes of house construction between 2000 and 2009. In the city of Derby the volumes of construction were either constant or rising, while in Nottingham this figure fluctuated. In Derby the number of built houses gradually increased between 2000 and 2003 from under 50 to over 100. After this, the figures were (stood at) on the same level over the period from 2003 to 2007. However, between 2007 and 2009 the number of houses built per year in Derby jumped from nearly 100 to just under 350. As for the city of Nottingham, there were 3 minimums in 2002, 2006 and 2008 with fewer less than 20 new houses per year, and the absolute maximum of 250 was in 2009. In other years the figures were between 50 and 200200 houses built per year. To sum up, the quantity of houses built per year in Derby was constant or growing, while in Nottingham it was changing and less predictable. The situation with house building in Derby was more stable over the period between 2000 and 2009, while in Nottingham it was less predictable.
