The bar chart below illustrates the information about the percentage of students studying subjects related to art at a UK university, classified as genders in 2011. In particular, it can be seen that the proportion of students studying subjects at university of both genders was unequal. Students studying English language and literature of male and female accounted for a huge number and reached their peak. On the other hand, male students weren’t keen on Philosophy, where as female students didn’t like Art and Design. In terms of Linguistics, the ratio of students in female made up approximately 245 on this oppose to male at more than 175. However, this statistics for female studying Philosophy was the least, merely 50 and male had a significant difference, at 150 students. Similarly, both genders accounted for a huge number for related English subjects ( over 225 students for male and 250 students for female). The number of students studying History and Archeology stayed low, but for female’s statistics was higher than that for male (over 120 students and above 100 students). In terms of Art and Design, this figure had a change with the number of students of male and female, as follows 170 and 155. Finally, male studying Communication and Media Stud was lower than female (around more than 200 and 225 students).
