The bar chart compares the proportions of numerous kinds of accommodation selected during the holiday in 2010 by the British resident from different regions.
It is clear that the majority of British holidaymakers choose to stay in a hotel in 2010, and this was highest in England which accounted for 55%. Besides, the percentage of hotels selection in Scotland and Wales was around 50%, whereas, in Northern Ireland, it was about 45%. On average, self-catering was the second option after hotels, when 28-30 % preferred this. However, the resident of Northern Ireland chose this only after Caravan. In Northern Ireland, Caravan was the second most preferred choice, while this was only 11% in self-catering. In all the other three provinces, caravan holidays were less prevalent which was 5% to 12%.
Camping, on the other hand, was the least popular option in all four regions. The ratio of this selection was the most in Wales with 14%, while in Scotland it was lowest at 5%.
Overall, hotels were the most popular for vacationers British in 2010, whereas, the preference for other options varied.
